The Civil Guard and the local police in San Javier arrested two youths for stealing backpacks on the beach (27/07/2015)

The Civil Guard in the region of Murcia, in collaboration with the local police in San Javier, has developed a research aimed at locating and arresting those suspected of theft of bags and belongings of bathers, which has led to the arrest of two persons who are credited with authorship of the alleged crime of theft.

Research on Wednesday, day 22, began when the Civil Guard received a letter from the local police in San Javier, on the identification of a young related to the theft of belongings on a beach in the municipality of Santiago de la Ribera-San Javier.

Specializing in prevention of public safety of the Meritorious agents went to the site where members of the local police had arrested a person who had taken moments allegedly several objects that a group of young swimmers had left their backpacks.

Once the needed information, the Civil Guard began reconnaissance of the area and spotted a second person, also identified as the alleged perpetrator of the theft.

Among his possessions he was found and seized a front headlight used supposedly to examine the backpacks in the dark and so gain valuables.

The Civil Guard has found that this procedure would be used by the now arrested so that, after crawling through the sand to where a bather had left their belongings, manipulated, hands-free, the contents of the bag to steal valuables and they returned crawling to a safe area.

The arrested men, aged 19 and 21, of Moroccan nationality and residents of San Javier, the seized and the proceedings have been brought before the Court of Instruction No. 2 of San Javier (Murcia).

Under the "Tourism Security Plan ', the Civil Guard is to establish service arrangements needed to increase public safety in areas of special tourist impact, prevent the commission of criminal acts in them, convey sense of security visitors and decrease the response time requirement of citizens.
