The popular folklore of the region of Murcia, Valencia, Andalusia and Extremadura will make up an attractive mosaic of traditional Spanish dances in the 27th National Meeting of Folklore to be held in San Javier on 29 August.
The mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo, Councillor for Culture, David Martinez and the president of the host group Songs and Dances Mar Menor, San Javier, Salvador Carrasco presented today, on the terrace of the Yacht Club of Santiago de la Ribera, Festival closes the cycle of summer festivals in the city.
Salvador Carrasco, president of the local folk group that organized the meeting with the Department of Culture, stressed the quality and variety of the participating groups, "Our Lady of the Rosary.." Caceres;
"Els Millars" Castellon de la Plana;
"Lola Torre Company", Jaen, Peña "El Quince" Santiago and Zarahiche and the local group "Songs and Dances Mar Menor".
José Miguel Luengo emphasized the history Folklore Meeting "which meets 27 years and we feel as much ours", and the important role "as a guardian of our traditions."
Also, the mayor of Culture, David Martinez showed municipal support this Festival and commitment of its council "intangible heritage of our town," as folklore will be the main protagonist in San Javier on 29 August.
All participating groups will parade through the Spanish Aviation Avenue, from the roundabout by local police to the Town Hall Square where they will be greeted by the Mayor and where after an exchange of gifts offered a small sample of their dances.
Gala Meeting with the performance of all groups will be held at 22: 00h.

A wide representation of the group of Songs and Dances Mar Menor, San Javier tucked presentation today with his presence dressed in the typical suit and a brief demonstration of dances on the terrace of the Yacht Club in Santiago de la Ribera.
