The plenary session of the municipal corporation last night agreed unanimously officially express the gratitude of the City of San Javier to the Cante de las Minas Foundation and the City of the Union for the award "Pencho Cross" award at the International Jazz Festival of San Javier for his work in promoting music.

The same agreement expresses the conviction of the City of San Javier about the extraordinary value they have for culture, tourism, image and economy of the Region of Murcia, festivals such as the Festival del Cante de las Minas and the Festival Jazz San Javier, along with others in this region, constitute a treasure that distinguishes it within the cultural and tourist offer of all the Spanish Autonomous Communities.

The "Pencho Cross" award was presented by the mayor of La Union, Pedro López Millán the mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo Gallego last August 14 in the Auditorium of the Casa del Pinon, within the cultural agenda the 54th edition of the Festival del Cante de las Minas, in a ceremony attended by the festival director, Alberto Nieto and the Councillor for Culture, David Martinez.
