Parkinson Association Mar Menor opens store in facilities provided by the City of San Javier, in Santiago de la Ribera and celebrated with a visit by Mayor Jose Miguel Luengo and CEO of Persons with Disabilities of IMAS, Ana Guijarro, which They congratulated the President Genevieve Ortiz for the work done by the Association in San Javier created a year ago.
The premiere of the new headquarters was also attended by the president of the Federation of Associations of People with Parkinson Murcia, Montserrat Mouriño, Councilwoman Frances La Torre and Congresswoman Maria Dolores Pelegrin, member of the Health Commission of the Congress and collaborating member of Parkinson Murcia association.
The facilities, which serve as the first users of the therapies offered by the Association, occupying the first floor of the Municipal Senior Center of Santiago de la Ribera and feature a large multipurpose room, physiotherapy room, an office and a large terrace for outdoor activities.
The Association has neuropsychology services, physiotherapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy and integration and mediation, covered all with volunteers.
The Association is of regional character and covers the municipalities of Mar Menor where more than 200 people diagnosed.
Genoveva Ortiz thanked the mayor of San Javier the transfer of the facilities and the assistance provided from the source of the association that was created with the help and support of the Time Bank and the Hotel of Associations of the Department of Volunteerism and Social Involvement San Javier.
Mayor Jose Miguel Luengo reiterated the municipal support such partnerships, such as Parkinson not only brings together people affected by the same disease but offers therapies that improve their quality of life in our town.
"Our duty is to care for and support both people with the disease as those who devote their time from partnerships like this."
In the same way the director general of People with Disabilities, Ana Guijarro who supported with their presence the work of the Parkinson Association and the contribution of the City of San Javier, pledging to continue to support from the regional government initiatives such pronounced and specifically the association dedicated to a disease that increasingly affect younger people.
The facilities occupied Parkinson Association Mar Menor are shared, in different days of the week with the Association of People affected by Alzheimer therapies also it offers its users.
