The service bibiohospital is run by a group of volunteers Reading Club Library San Javier, where the idea of ​​its implementation arises, and Bank local time every Wednesday of the year, pick your "bibliocarro" with 250 copies of books and magazines outreach to tour the rooms of the clinic offering reading to patients and their families, and even medical personnel, which also makes use of this service, explained Marisol Alvarez, one of the volunteers.
"Volunteers put in this our time and our heart," said Marisol Alvarez which together with the councilors of Culture, David Martinez, Volunteer, Kitty Perez, the assistant director of nursing at the hospital, Remedios Alonso and social worker at the health center, Maui Barcelo, took stock of this initiative "that fills us with pride by reading to contribute to the improvement of the sick," said the mayor of Culture.
At present there are about 16 volunteers who take care of Bibliohospital which last year paid about 1,000 copies, among them novels as "Like Water for Chocolate", "South Seas" and "The Blind Sunflowers" that they are among the most borrowed.
They also carry children's books, children's literature, and titles in English, French and German, with informative magazines.
The Bibliohospital, and contribute to improving the quality of stay of patients and relatives in the hospital, also based on bibliotherapy, convinced that literature has a healing power over people.
