The mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo has placed today in the sports hall of the sports center of San Javier energy certification that has resulted from the audit that the flag has been submitted along with other municipal buildings by the City to Fuensanta-Elena through the Institute of Development of the Region of Murcia project.
Accompanied by the Councillor for the Environment, Antonio Luengo, the mayor explained that the audits were performed at four schools, the sports hall and the Town Hall, are a tool for improvement as it sets the weaknesses of those buildings, some of them very old building to improve its energy efficiency.
The change of lighting, improved enclosures or changing the type of boiler are some recommendations including studies to reduce energy consumption.
The mayor recalled that the City of San Javier while working on improving energy efficiency in the municipality with actions that have already been carried out as change of street lighting in some areas, or placing solar panels on heated pool that has managed to lower the fuel consumption in the boiler which now aims to change to gas.
Luengo said it is working with the supply of gas to channel to the pool in order to change the boiler and reduce consumption and emissions.
The change in public lighting is still done progressively and could make a quantum leap with the subsidies has asked the Institute for Diversification and Saving of Energy, the Ministry of Industry, to replace the old street lighting fixtures sodium vapor and mercury led, "thereby also reducing consumption ostensibly increases the light field and be better lighting," said the mayor.
The mayor of the Environment, Antonio Luengo said the provision of the City to do everything possible to improve energy efficiency in the public sector, and also raise awareness for the need for any special measures.
San Javier Luengo is recalled that acceded to the Covenant of Mayors, which serves working path in order to reach 2020, having reduced by 20% consumption and greenhouse gas emissions and increase by 20% the use of renewable energies.
