The Department of Tourism has invited businessmen from the municipality to join the Integrated System of Tourist Quality, SICTED, successfully developed by the Ministry of Tourism in other parts of Spain, whose main objective is to offer tourists a level homogeneous quality in all services, not just the strictly tourist.
The Councillor for Tourism, Antonio Martinez met with a large group of entrepreneurs from different sectors to explain the project at a meeting attended by Cecilia Dominguez representative SICTED in the region of Murcia and member of Interdestinos Committee, the technique of Tourism Consuelo Espinosa will be the manager of the project in the municipality, Cayetano Ureña, trainer, consultant and evaluator of the quality system that is intended to implement in the municipality.
The initiative is succeeding with the accession of entrepreneurs from different sectors such as taxi drivers, who have done block, it aims to implement a model of comprehensive and permanent quality management widely and seeks to increase satisfaction both visitors and neighbors, and better positioning of the town as a tourist destination.
SICTED provides a set of tools to be applied in those establishments, businesses or enterprises attached, including counseling, Manuals of Good Practice for specific professions and training modules, workshops, target groups improved, individualized visits, technical assistance and annual evaluation to assess the improvements in service and officially certify the quality.
The mayor of Tourism and Trade, Antonio Martinez explained that the instructions of SICTED own, will start with a first phase in which enter a first group of companies that would be subject to the certification evaluation in 2016, to further expand and peak possible participation.
It is also planned that municipal services such as security, cleaning and cultural also adhere to this quality system.
Antonio Martinez stressed "the commitment of the Department to increase the quality of our destiny for better positioning and competitiveness" and stressed the importance of "all in this sense we try to increase our value as a destination".
