The bobbin lace has become a craft that thanks to hundreds of associations of women, and increasingly men, who learn and practice this laborious technique that many household items such as blankets, sheets embellished remains, towels, baby clothes, as well as new applications in accessories like handbags or fans, among many others.
Many of these items could be seen yesterday in the exhibition of works that have made the local lace makers of "Abomar" Association, more a year, and going twelve organized with the Department of Culture and Arts XII National Meeting of Encajeras of Bun in San Javier.
About 250 people participated in the meeting which was attended lace many parts of the Region of Murcia and neighboring regions such as the Valencian, Andalusian and the Castilian-La Mancha community.
The accidental mayor, Teresa Foncuberta, Councillor for Culture and Arts, David Martinez and the mayor Pedro López, welcomed all participants in the meeting, which served to the public to watch closely the process of creating a lace bobbin.
At the opening of the exhibition that could be seen throughout the morning in the lobby of City Hall, David Martinez he reiterated the support of his department to tradition and craftsmanship "we have to preserve, encourage and show the public as part of our cultural richness. "
