The Festival de Jazz de San Javier leads the New Orleans jazz to Santiago de la Ribera and La Manga where this weekend will serve the New Orleans Blue Stompers.
The Catalonian band that has become standard in this type of jazz in our country, take their cheerful harmonies and fun to the streets, in direct contact with the public.
The New Orleans Blue Stompers, were announced in Barcelona in 1995 as an animator group Jazz Nights "Hivernacle."
That was the beginning of a band that has sought its place in the Spanish jazz scene where they enjoy the respect of critics and audiences, while acting in clubs and festivals around the country.
The group, formed by such prestigious musicians as Oriol Roma clarinet, Pepe Robles on trumpet, the trombone Oscar Font, Albert Roma on banjo, Félix de Blas to the tuba, and washboard Marcelo de Castro, is considered one of the best groups indigenous to the most authentic New Orleans style, with a repertoire that includes blues, spiritual, marches and other more or less known of the origins of jazz, and musicians as Louis Armstrong, King Oliver, Kid Ory, Johnny Dodds, and Jimmie No one, among others.
