The Abbey Theatre in San Javier has an unconventional version of the myth of Don Juan with the staging of "The Trickster of Seville and the stone guest," directed by Briton Dan Jammett
The Abbey Theater presented tomorrow at the Festival of San Javier a free version of the myth of Don Juan to the staging of "The Trickster of Seville and the stone guest", text attributed to Tirso de Molina, written in 1615, in which plasma is definitely the figure of a character, who along with Don Quixote, is one of the great Spanish contributions to world literature.
The prestigious British Madrid company turned to Dan Jemmett to direct this production in seeking a fresh, different and free of classical Spanish, as explained by the head of The Abbey, José Luis Gómez, for which the result was "a unobstructed view of the burdens of tradition and totally different. The scenery and costumes by Dick Bird unconventional support the vision of the play, which tells a story of lies and deceptions, disguises and seduction, set in a cabaret bar sort of mid-century where the action.
