The setting of the plot at the beginning of the Second Spanish Republic, when women acquire new rights, it is no coincidence.
The original text Moreto, defends the woman through her transgressive female characters, full of energy and full of reason, against the prevailing machismo, becoming a revolutionary in the context of baroque theater.
Morote, author of 62 works, among which "The disdain with disdain" incorporated into the classical repertoire, is considered a master of funny dialogue, clever and elegant.
