The municipality of San Javier has included the reinstatement of services in various streets of the towns of San Javier and Santiago de la Ribera in the Works and Services Plan for 2009, for a total of 1,349,388.66 euros.
Funding for the works that aims to adapt the central streets of the two locations, with the contribution of 476,571 euros from the Autonomous Community, while the remainder, a total of 872,817, 66 euros will be providing municipal, and committed to the 2009 budget.
The works considered both as the main, consist of the replacement of asphalt, sidewalks, renovation of sewage and rainwater, channeling telephone, street lighting and paving and signage.
In Santiago de la Ribera, the works involve an investment of EUR 437,412.94 municipal streets affect Aguilar Amat, Zarandona, Marquis of Torre Pacheco, Painter Clemente, Lebech, Earl Campbell, and Rev. José Antonio Sánchez square, Father John and Conde Lisea.
San Javier in municipal investment amounts to EUR 435,404.72, covering the streets, post offices, Pitín, Market, Victoria, Courts, and Post Master's Square between Spain and the javelin street in the city center, so bearing the same treatment as other surrounding streets with cobblestone pavement at a single height, with sidewalks marked by the color of cobblestones.
Councilman Works and Services, Pedro Muñoz explained that with these works is to renew particularly busy areas of the municipality and older, and that it is the oldest urban areas, and contribute to open malls in San Javier and Santiago de la Ribera, renovating and modernizing the infrastructure of the area where they are concentrated mostly traditional trade.
