The mayor of San Javier has this morning signed a collaboration agreement with the association Columbares for the project "The health of our planet is in your hands" on climate change awareness, particularly aimed at the immigrant population, and centralized municipal public library.
In signing the Convention have been present, Juan Antonio García Balsalobre, project coordinator and Francisco Javier Garcia will be your responsibility from the public library.
This initiative was developed through information sessions that are taught in the library building and will be offered directly to different groups, mainly schools, and in a special way for the immigrant community in the municipality.
Balseiro García explained that through this project is to act on two social phenomena such as climate change and immigration, "in order to move the immigrants from different realities, the current situation in our country", with special emphasis on issues like energy and water savings.
At the same time, as explained by Francisco Javier García, is intended to bring the library to the society and the immigrant community in particular "to see it as a resource at all levels."
The mayor of San Javier, Pepa Garcia stressed the importance of initiatives like this that influence the environmental awareness of the population "with which the council shall be provided as environmental protection is a real need that affects us all."
