The Department of Youth has launched the Youth Involvement Committee, which held its first meeting "with the aim of encouraging the participation of youth in our town in the activity of the council and youth policies in general can be taken in this area since the City ", as explained by the area councilor, José Luis Espinosa.
The first meeting of the Youth Bureau, to be convened once a month open, attracted some 20 participants who included representatives of the Local Youth Council and other associations, as ADESU, "South American Development Association "Locally-based and youth who participate individually and adults representing youth groups such as the local Scout group.
The councilman of Youth, José Luis Espinosa explained that the meeting, which lasted over 2 hours, served to "raise awareness of policies and projects of the Department and especially to collect the opinions, preferences and demands of young people to respond and try to incorporate them into our daily activities. "
These young people were particularly interested in music related activities, and pointed to possible activities such as theater and dance.
More facilities where they can develop their activities, including meetings, rehearsals, among others, and organizing cultural events, were other themes that emerged in this first table.
With this initiative, the Department of Youth policy affects their direct participation and launched in September with the call made by young people to participate with their demands and suggestions in preparing the budget by the campaign "participatory budgets" .
