The Mayor informed the farmers about the Civil Guard increased in rural areas and the urgent convening of the local board to address security concerns for agricultural theft (17/03/2009)

The mayor of San Javier Pepa Garcia reported yesterday to farmers attending a meeting convened by COAG in El Mirador, on "the significant increase in the Guardia Civil rural area, with troops from different specialized programs of the Security Corps in addition to the usual provisions in the municipality of civil guards who have experienced a great increase in recent months. "

Also, the Mayor, who attended the meeting along with three council members of the government team, committed to a hundred members of COAG who attended the meeting to urgently convene the Local Security Board, which will be held on Monday 23 March to address the problems reported by farmers on increasing agricultural thefts in the area of El Mirador, and transfer their concerns to the appropriate higher authorities, after explaining that competition in rural safety is the responsibility of the Guardia Civil.

The meeting was convened by the Coordinator of Agricultural and Livestock Organizations, COAG, El Mirador, to move to the Mayor and the government team concerned about the recent increase in robberies in the field.

A situation that according to his chairman, Emilio Martinez had caused a total of 90 complaints of farmers for this reason in the last 27 days.
