A total of 21 students have participated in the workshop on Creating and Managing a Time Bank, organized by the Bank of San Javier time through the Volunteer Program to the Department of Social Services of the municipality of San Javier.
Course students from Almeria, Murcia, Alicante, Petrer, San Pedro del Pinatar and San Javier belong mostly to associations interested in setting up a bank of time.
Natalia Conesa, head of the Time Bank of San Javier, a pioneer in Spain, has taught the course which consisted of 8 hours spread over two Sunday mornings, in which students have received the basics of starting of this initiative and its daily management.
The course, based on personal experience of the Time Bank of San Javier, has also involved the participation of the person responsible for putting up a time bank in a secondary school in the municipality and several volunteers who have presented their experience practice.
The councilman of Social Services, M ª Angeles Chumillas cites the success of the Time Bank in San Javier, "which confirms that it is happier to give than he receives," while emphasizing "the interest that out of our municipality, which has led the organization of this course because of the interest associations and institutions are directed to the Bank of San Javier time seeking advice for their implementation. "
