Soul Music farewell to the legendary band Osibisa, creator of the Afro-rock and world music pioneer, in a unique concert in Spain
The legendary band Osibisa, regarded as the founder of Afro-Rock, bounce with the energy of their live the ninth edition of soul music, the concert series organized by the Department of Culture of the City of San Javier, next Saturday 25 April with the concert given in the tent in the park at 22:00 Almansa
Founded in London in 1969 by an explosive mix of musicians from Ghana, Nigeria, Grenada, Trinidad and Tobago, Antigua and Barbuda, Osibisa, opened in the 70's what would later be known as world music, with its mix of rock and African and Caribbean sounds.
Its wealth of sounds, mostly dance, and spectacle of their live characterize this formation that defines itself with Osibisa name which means "cross rhythms that explode with happiness."
Since the publication of his first album in 1971 "Osibisa" have posted a total of 37 albums until 2005 when it appeared "Blue Black Night" a double CD recorded live.
With multiple lineup changes, Osibisa, has remained active, while acting in the world since creation.
Teddy Osei, singer, sax, flute, african drums, is the only one of the founders Ghanaians who remains in the band, and that is in the soul music concert in San Javier, along with six other current members of the training , with a last minute addition to the training provided and that is the opportunity to enjoy special guest of another of the founders of the group in the 70's, guitarist Wendell Richardson, who played on all albums Osibisa classic, and also be in San Javier.
