San Javier has today with its First Municipal Plan for Equal Opportunities between men and women whose main objectives and areas of work will focus on awareness and civic education for Equality, as reported by the mayor, Pepa García during the presentation of Plan, along with Councilwoman Female, M ª Angeles Chumillas and Equal municipal agent, Luis Asensio, this morning in the municipality of San Javier.
The First Plan for Equality, which was endorsed by all political groups in the City Council, has been agreed with the social partners through previous meetings that came a diagnosis that reflected a significant deficit in this area, as explained by the mayor of Women, Maria Angeles Chum, "so we decided to give it a didactic nature that will lead workshops in schools for both students and teachers and families, and local associations, and public awareness campaigns."
Among the first steps of the Plan which will run for two years, is editing and public presentation, the implementation of workshops and educational campaigns and the creation of a City Council composed of equal men and women, as explained coach Luis Asensio, "and that its objective is also to encourage citizen participation."
