The Department of Environment held on World Environment Day with a program of activities that following the guidelines of Agenda 21 has sought the direct participation of citizens as announced by the area councilor, José Luis Espinosa with the municipal technical Marcela Valente has announced this morning the program of activities including cleaning of seabed and beaches in collaboration with BalkySub diving school, which was represented by David Balcazar.
Workshops, an exhibition on the dunes of La Manga, and lectures on energy conservation and urban ecology, complete the program of activities that will run until June 5.
David Balcombe explained that more than 70 volunteers who have registered so far will work Saturday morning in the marina cleaning of weirs throughout the day from 09:00 h.
BalkySub has been doing this for years, every 4 months "as a way of returning to the sea as it offers diving", as explained by David Balcazar has thanked the cooperation of the Department of Environment since last year in this activity which is achieved by extracting, in every action, more than 500 kilos of rubbish, among which predominates from the construction, plastics and cans as well as clarified Balcazar.
Marcela Valente, municipal technical Environment explained that in addition to volunteering, also work with schools by recycling workshops with students of Children, a gymkhana for Primary ecological and educational exhibits on environmental wealth of the dunes of La Manga which can be seen from 2 to June 12 at the civic center of San Javier, and who is organized jointly between the council and the Association of Southeastern Naturalist, ANSE.
The exhibition is devoted to secondary students and the general public.
It also has involved local women's associations in a workshop-distillation aromatherapy aromatic plants, and have scheduled two lectures in collaboration with Ecologists in ACTIONS, one in the library of San Javier on tips for saving energy at home , June 3 at 19:30 pm, and one in the library of La Manga on June 5 at 20:30
