The Paris-based American organist Rhoda Scott, regarded by many as "the best organist in the world" will be responsible for opening the XII Festival de Jazz de San Javier in an evening dedicated to the Hammond organ, an instrument not too common among instrumentalists jazz, which also will play the Spanish organist Mauri Sanchis accompanied by a supergroup and four guest singers will perform the U.S. premiere of his new album "Groove Words."
The singer and organist Rhoda Scott will offer the first concert of the night wrapped up in one of the "young lions" of jazz in New Orleans, tenor saxophonist Jesse Davis, whose music from the classic roots of bop, who has worked with Kenny Barron, Tete Montoliu, Cedar Walton, and Hank Jones, among other jazz greats, considered one of the best saxophonists of Mississippi.
The great lady of the Hammond B-3 has had two other French musicians of great standing, guitarist and drummer Gilles Renne Dobato Lucien, to complete the quartet that will play in San Javier.
The daughter of a priest, Rhoda Scott began playing in church, where at age seven he discovered his passion for the organ.
"It's really the world's most beautiful instrument," said "The Barefoot Contessa" and is known for his playing the pedals with bare feet.

The second evening concert will be led by Mauri Sanchis, one of the leading organists of the European fusion jazz scene, which act accompanied by a supergroup and four American singers, led by Karl Frierson, soul singer of De-Phazz.
Following the release of his DVD "Live at Jazz Vibes More San Javier, Sanchez returns to the Festival for the world premiere of their third and brand new album in which Mauri Sanchis debut as lyricist with six songs sung.
Dean Brown, Randy Brecker and Chuck Loeb are some of the international artists participating in the new work of Mauri Sanchis, who has also had Javier Vargas, Kepa Junquera and Sole Giménez.
