The mayor of San Javier, Pepa Garcia and the director general of Transport and Ports Carmen Sandoval this morning visited the works of the cycle route linking the town of Santiago de la Ribera with access to the airport roundabout, from where in the future you can connect to the bike path in Los Alcazares.
The new lane that runs parallel to the fence of the General Air Academy along 2.6 kilometers will be completed and equipped with the corresponding horizontal and vertical signaling in two weeks when ready for use, as announced by Carmen Sandoval whose department assumes the work.
The mayor of San Javier, Pepa García thanked the cooperation of the autonomous region, and explained that the 2.6 miles of new bike lanes are added to the 8 miles of urban bike lanes which are already in the municipality of San Javier , which is expected to continue expanding this infrastructure since last spring has been completed with an auto loan system for bicycles, "with the aim of promoting healthy habits and promoting sustainable transport."
Pepa García explained that work on the bike path on the road from the airport are part of the preparation of this pathway, the F-24 will assume the municipality of San Javier, once the lane, and the settlement of the firm which carried out Directorate General of Highways, before incorporating it into the municipal network.
