Ron Carter, bass teacher and living legend of jazz will be the star of a night when San Javier Jazz shall, for the first time in Spain, the Italian singer Chiara Civello

The Festival de Jazz de San Javier presented for the first time in Spain with pianist, singer and songwriter Chiara Civello Italian, one of the revelations of the European jazz with two excellent works published, Last Quartet Moon (2005) and The Space Between (2007) , in which makes clear his affection for bossa nova and Latin music.

The jazz-bossa combination is also present in the second part of the night that Ron Carter, the greatest living bass player in history of jazz, will present his latest album "Jazz & Bossa."

Chiara Civello musically formed in the United States, first in Boston at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, where he arrived on a scholarship from his native Rome, and later in New York, where he began to compose while fully introduced in the environment Brazilian and Latin music.

The prestigious Verve Records released his debut album "Last Quarter Moon", in which the age of 28 was confirmed with a new value to take into account the international jazz scene.

In 2006 coincided with Juan Luis Guerra as guest artists in the 60 th anniversary of the Berklee College of that meeting came a duet "Something Good", composed by singer / songwriter for his latest work.

Chiara Civello published two years later his second and last album to date "The Space Between", released by Universal Music, more intimate and personal than the previous profile that comprises thirteen songs with which again demonstrates the powerful weapons that captivates the audience, her sensual and seductive voice, poetic lyrics, and amazing harmonies.

The pianist and singer Chiara Civello, 34, is a guitar lover who will also perform at a concert presentation at San Javier Jazz where three musicians will be accompanied by Italian guitarist Fabio Zeppetella, Fabrizio Fratepietro drummer and bassist Marco Siniscalco.

American jazz bassist Ron Carter will perform in the second part of the night, passing the new value is Chiara Civello to the seniority of one of the most popular musicians as evidenced by more than 3,500 albums on which he participated, in addition to 32 which has recorded as a leader since the early 60's until last year when he published "Jazz & Bossa" which includes original compositions with covers of songs like "Canção do Sal" by Lubambo-Nascimento, or "Chega De Saudade ", signed by Jobim and de Moraes.

Ron Carter, who has also excelled in classical music as a cellist, and signed as the enigmatic soundtrack music in the background the series "Twin Picks", has worked with virtually every major jazz musicians from the 60 that joined the Miles Davis quintet, along with Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter and Tony Williams.

At 74 years, Ron Carter is regarded as one of the most important bass players in the entire history of jazz, with Ray Brown.

His bass has sounded with jazz greats such as Billy Cobham, McCoy Tyner, Wes Montgomery, Don Ellis, or Thelonious Monk, among others, as the Brazilians Stan Getz and Antonio Carlos Jobim with which he plunged into the sound of the bossa nova.

In his concert in San Javier Jazz will take the stage accompanied by Stephen Scott on piano, Guilherme Monteiro on guitar, Rolando Morales-Matos on percussion and Payton Crossley on drums.
