Under the section Alternative Festival, is the turn of the musical "Ruddigore or cursed lineage", endorsed by the criticism award for Best Musical Show Barcelona 2007-08, by the Catalan company Egos Teatre.
The work is based on an operetta by WAS Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan, authors of similar works that currently populate the Anglo musical theater repertoire.
The show directed by Joan Maria Segura that combines love, death, betrayal, and humor, tells the story of the family of the Barons of Ruddigore on which a curse whereby those who inherited the title are required to commit a daily crime if you do not want to die in terrible agony.
Egos Teatre has made its own version of the classic operetta, in which parodied the false morality of English high society of the time and his taste for the supernatural, to create a new theatrical text, dynamic and a fast pace in which recurrent themes of gender as a virtue, honor and love have been replaced by vice, corruption and interest.
The assembly of Egos Teatre, played by six actors, singers, also departs from the original happy ending, with a more pessimistic view that portrays simple and mediocre characters that lead to a deselance "neither happy nor fair, at least for most "explained from Egos Teatre.
In this show, which comes backed by rewards and public success both on tour in Catalan, and Castilian, which critics have described it as "crazy, funny and lively."
