El Mirador has hosted the exhibition entitled "Education in San Javier: a historical approach through archive documents" belonging to the municipal archives of San Javier, which was inaugurated this morning the Mayor, Pepa Garcia at the Senior Center El Mirador where you can visit on schedule continued until Nov. 2.
The mayor of San Javier, Pepa García accompanied by the exhibition curator and archivist municipal, Luis Lluch explained that on his visit to El Mirador, "have included two new display cases with 15 documents pertaining to the population of El Mirador that was not shown in the previous edition of the exhibition could be seen for the first and only time in San Javier late last year, with a huge public success. "
In the showcases dedicated to El Mirador inventories include school, relationships of teachers, students, the project of building the school in 1934, and several group photographs of teachers with students from 1922 to 1965.
The rest of the exhibition is organized thematically in six sections on public display over 60 original documents and several reproductions, as well as school supplies, and photographs ranging from 1886 to 1974.
Each case is accompanied by an explanatory panel for a better understanding of its contents devoted to schools, students, teachers, teaching materials, Private School and Adult Education.
The Mayor encouraged all the residents of El Mirador to visit the exhibition which will travel the city in the near future, and in which, among other things, visitors can see originals of records of children enrolled in 1901, during the Second Republic, or in the 40's.
Also shown school budgets since the late nineteenth century, and debug reports of teachers, during the first stage of Franco, although the photographs of teachers with students still attracted the interest of visitors many of whom are recognized images that did not even know.
