The mayor of San Javier, Pepa Garcia has received this morning in the city to a group of fourteen teachers in Finland, Ireland, Czech Republic, Poland and France, together with the Official Language School of San Javier are a group of Grundtvig Learning that within the European educational program focuses on cooperation among the institutions involved, all of them to adult education.
The director of the Official Language School of San Javier, Maria Angeles Martínez-Abarca explained that the Center coordinates the program, started in San Javier and will last two years.
The aim of this partnership Grundtvig focuses on overcoming any barriers between countries in the European identity by promoting mutual understanding through exchanges and the promotion of dialogue between the institutions associated with the program.
Participating teachers who arrived yesterday in San Javier remain until 20 October with an agenda that combines preparatory seminars for the program, cultural visits to the area.
In the next two years the Association will continue to visit the other partner countries to deepen the exchange of experiences and practices which has among its objectives the promotion of equal opportunities for educational access for all citizens regardless of cultural origin.
The mayor of San Javier, Pepa García stressed the importance of cooperation between European countries in terms of education, and wished them a happy stay in San Javier after welcoming in the Town Hall auditorium where they have been projected tourism and explanatory video on the town.
At the reception ceremony attended also Pilar Juarez, representative of the Ministry of Education and the regional head of European programs, Isabel Iglesias.
