The Virgin of Loreto College, City Air has entered the race this morning, "Miles of Solidarity" that drives the NGO Save The Children in schools across Spain to raise funds to be allocated to children in Ivory Coast, coinciding with the International Day of the Rights of the Child.
Throughout the whole morning the different courses and Primary have been involved in an uncompetitive race which gave several turns of a circuit inside the campus.
Each student has a card in which solidarity has scored its sponsors and what they are willing to pay for every lap completed "so that the collection effort also depends on each child," said Ramón Gómez, Professor of Education high school physics, which has highlighted the involvement of students.
Encarni Munuera, president of the Association of Parents of Students, who has collaborated with the Center in organizing the initiative highlighted the importance of this type of action "for children to engage with the problems of other children who have not been fortunate to have the means of those who have them. "
The head of Studies, Pepe Escudero stressed "not so much the amount that can be raised for children in Ivory Coast, but the awareness it makes to our students about the existence of other children who are suffering."
Escudero stressed also "the joy with which all children are involved, and collaboration that has existed between teachers and parents to carry out this initiative."
