The mayor of San Javier, Pepa Garcia acknowledged this week the work in the municipality by local Homemakers today celebrated its 25 anniversary.
In a ceremony held in the hall of the council, which has benefited from the presence of the director of the Institute for Women, Teresa Moreno, and the president of the Federation of Housewives and Consumer Thader, Juana Pérez, Pepa Garcia has recalled the difficult beginnings of the Association over the past 25 years has developed "a whole female-style revolution so quiet and intelligent."
The Mayor said "the great activity that has always developed the Association, from which came another group dedicated to the roll, a choir, and until the publication of a book."
Pepa Garcia congratulated especially Pilar Sánchez-Vizcaíno and Inés Martínez founders of the Association this week received the homage of his companions.
The director of the Institute for Women, Teresa Moreno also stressed the social role of housewife "whose work has not been sufficiently recognized, and demanded the close of March 8 to continue to demand improvements in balance and responsibility.
Francisca Latorre, president of the Association thanked the founders the impetus that led to associate "being a pioneer in the region" as Teresa Moreno recalled.
Latorre recalled the initial illusion "when they gathered in a room donated by Rosario Tárraga until it finally got the municipal headquarters still enjoy today."
The current president had a special memory for Encarna Guirao, another of the presidents of the Association, now deceased, and the age of 80, "the years of the family in which children and husbands enjoyed actively participating in our activities" .
