San Javier is one of the three municipalities of the Region of Murcia have been selected by the University of Seville for the development of its Project for Excellence "Migration of indigenous peoples in Ecuador and Bolivia in Spain.

In the context of this study and opening the second phase of the project, practical, lie the "First Conference for Intercultural Dialogue and Solidarity" organized by the Faculty of Law, University of Seville with the collaboration of the council of San Javier Social Services, presented this morning in the town, the mayor of the municipality, Pepa García, a researcher at the University of Sevilla, Pilar Zúņiga and Municipal Social Education, Julia Meroņo.
Pilar Zuniga explained that the conference, free and open, will focus on two specific issues "fruit of the previous diagnosis was made in each municipality" and that in the case of San Javier will focus on two workshops, one on coeducation and family conflict management, and one on intercultural and everyday communication. "
Each workshop will consist of two modules, which will address issues of equality from the family perspective, and the constructive resolution of family disputes in the first case, and intercultural communication and prejudices and stereotypes of everyday communication in the second.
The Conference will be inaugurated on Saturday 13 March at 18:30 at Civic Center Park Almansa in San Javier, and will begin at 19:00
with the first module on equality in the family.
The workshops, which will be held fortnightly until 24 April, will take place at the civic center of San Javier, always on Saturday and 19:00 to 22:00 h.
No pre-registration is required, and attendees will receive a certificate of achievement from the University of Seville.
Pilar Zúņiga who participated in the study and coordinating the activities taking place in San Javier has indicated that it is "a pioneering initiative which aims to build bridges between university research and society."
The mayor of San Javier, Pepa Garcia highlighted the practical aspect of that university study "whose information and findings, along with this conference will improve the conditions of these" new neighbors "many of whom were born here," referring to Ecuadorian and Bolivian large population living in the municipality.
