The Public Library of Santiago de la Ribera, located in the Civic Centre Prince of Asturias, is home from 5 to 23 April, the exhibition "The Heritage of the paper.
Early years of printing in Murcia, promoted by the Regional Library of Murcia and curated by professors of the Faculty of Communication and Information Studies, University of Murcia, Amparo García Herrero Pascual Cristina Cuadrado and experts on history and heritage of the printed book bibliography.
The exhibition, regarded as the most complete study to date on the printed book in the Region of Murcia, offers a tour of the printing material from Murcia since 1484, when the first incunabula, to 1800.
Four centuries of history of art and printing industry in the region that can, in turn, a better understanding of social history, as press, society, and knowledge are inseparable concepts.
The exhibition which will be open from 10:00 to 13:00
and 16:00 to 21:00 h.
can not only enjoy the secrets that hold each of the books exhibited, bibliographic treasures, but a didactic approach on the technical and aesthetic evolution of the publishing industry in the Region of Murcia, as well as topics of greatest interest to readers at different times.
