With a program of great attraction for lovers of jazz and blues shows the 13 edition of the Festival de Jazz de San Javier dedicated to the memory of Willy Deville.
Festival director Alberto Nieto accompanied by the mayor of San Javier, Pepa Garcia and the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Autonomous Community of Murcia, Pedro Alberto Cruz was released this morning at the headquarters of the Ministry of Culture on Festival program includes a total of 21 concerts spread over 11 nights from 2 to 31 July.
The program includes jazz greats such as guitarist and singer George Benson, Dianne Reeves, Chucho Valdés with his new band The Afro Cuban Messengers, the quintet of Bobby Hutcherson & Cedar Walton or returning to San Xavier del Tangaria Quartet of the great French accordionist Richard Galliano .
Blues fans are in luck with the program more bluesy in the entire history of the festival to announce the participation of legendary New Orleans pianist Dr. John, the legendary blues band, Canned Heat boogie rock, in what promises to be a historic night, the collaboration between Robben Ford and Bill Evans, or the collection of singers from Chicago, Women of Chicago Blues.
Not to miss big rock as expected Chris Isaak visit the world-famous author of "Wicked Game" and one of the greats of contemporary music, which opens the festival on Friday, July 2, Paul Carrack and the British who will be accompanied by a great band, and it will close the festival on Saturday July 31 with an evening dedicated to the large UK public festival which also act Carol Kidd, and that is preparing yet another surprise reveal.
The Festival will feature great musicians like the great saxophonist James Carter is back with his quintet and the debut of Marcus Strickland Quartet in San Javier, one of the most promising tenor sax.
The bassist Avishai Cohen, or the great revelation of the trumpet, Christian Scott, not forgetting the grand dame of European jazz, the Scottish Carol Kidd, or the quartet of vocalist Tunisian oud virtuoso, Dhafer Youssef is shaping up as one of the revelations of this year, according to Nieto for which Dhafer Youssef "sign one of the best jazz discs released this year," the CD "Abus Nawas Rhapsody", dedicated to the Arab poet Abu Nawas Persian origin.
Is also on the schedule this year the Spanish groups always present in the successive editions of the festival which this year will feature the return of the great pianist Lluis Coloma Catalan boogie and blues, this time in formation of quintet and pianist Barrelhouse Chuck Chicago as a guest, the Hill-Serrano Projet with singer Carmen Rodríguez Murcia blues group The Bluesfalos, and a revelation of the Spanish guitar, the Catalan guitarist Javier Vaquero, complete the Spanish company in this year's Festival.
The Minister of Culture of the Government of Murcia, Pedro Alberto Cruz showed his support for the Festival of Jazz "for the missing adjectives" said Cruz who praised the "commendable work in San Javier that every year with fewer resources because of the crisis gets better signs ".
The Minister of Culture said "balance" achieved in the festival's program among the different styles and backgrounds of their proposals.
The mayor of San Javier, Pepa Garcia said that "San Javier is still committed to the Culture, as always but now more effort" in relation to the crisis for the third consecutive year has reduced the budget of the Festival which this year amounts to 667.965euros, "not discount all the revenue it generates," said the Mayor, who noted that due to problems in precisely budget this year have abolished the free concerts held last year in La Manga and Santiago de la Ribera .

Tickets for all concerts will go on sale starting next May 1 through the Office of Festivals of San Javier, Discos Carrots, Cartagena and ServiCaixa.
The tickets can be booked from today at the Festival Office, located in the plaza of San Javier Spain, (telephone 968 19 15 68-968 19 15, 88).
The pricing policy is its accessibility criteria amounts of entries that remain mostly between 12 and 15 euros to 30 euros for entry to the concert of George Benson, and Chris Isaak (24 euros for subscribers).
